set bridge for additional IP address on hetzner?

Hi there,

I'm currently struggling with creating a VPS on a Dedicated server.

I've purchased quite a high spec Dedicated server which is running Windows 2019 with Hyper-V installed and I'm looking at installing Ubuntu 16.04 and running it as a VPS off of the Dedicated server so I can allow my friends to make use of the server. I've purchased a failover IP address and I've attached it to the main Dedicated server but I'm a bit confused on how I am suppose to tell Hyper-V to use the additional IP only in that one VM box.

Please feel free to burn me for my stupidity but I could really do with some advice - thank you in advance.

I was a Happy Hetzner Customer from Last 2 Years but they recently changed their Setup Price for IP Address and Its too Much. Any Likewise Provider with Similar Pricing or Like OVH Types?
Also, Preferred Providers which give at least 48 hours for response in Case of Abuse Reports. Because as You can see, Hetzner only gives 24 hours and if not replied, They'll just suspend!
Let me know if You know any Providers?

I've been looking for companies just like OVH and SYS which charge only setup fee for additional IP addresses or Failover IPs one purchases, but no luck so far since I've been using dedicated servers for like years now. All other companies like Hetzner, OneProvider, Scalway, etc all charges a set amount of monthly fees.

i want the same server from hetzner directly. i searched in server auction but NIC is I219 did not find I210
anyone could tell is I219 is better than I210 or not? i am newbie
and the configuration he sent same config is available in hetzner or not?
and that guy said he have rack from hetzner, what about it??

hi, I got a dedicated server at hetzner and I setup 10 VMs with windows 10 and everything is fine except that for some reason I can't access http websites inside my VMs. http(s) connections however are working perfectly.

The VMs are inside a internal network and routed by pfSense but even if I shut down pfSense and connect my VMs directly to the NIC I can't acccess http websites.

I also tried to install other VMs (Ubuntu,..) but it seems like no VM can't establish a http connection at all.

There's a FW at hetzner but all ports are open

I'm a bit clueless what's the reason for that. Do you have any ideas how I can fix this?

We have a client running a web application on a dedicated server in Finland (Hetzner). Client is based in Asia. They're trying to integrate a third party API, but that provider says they can't connect to a Finland IP and need an Asian one. Hetzner doesn't have a presence in this Asian country, so I am wondering if a VPN could be used in some way to resolve this issue.

But, it's not clear how. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

What will be a better option?

I have no experience as System Administrator.

I will like to keep the server fast, optimized, and online.

I don't plan to host many websites on the server, I need a server for a couple of large websites.

So optimization of servers for sites is very important to me.

For optimization I mean, cache optimization, database optimization, server optimization for WordPress, etc...

Is anyone have experience with Hetzner managed servers?

I want to buy a SX server from Hetzner so i asked them about the abuse terms ...

I got this response:

Dear client,

Thank you for your email.

If we receive an abuse report for a site hosted by you, we will forward the abuse report to you. The deadline to solve the problem is in most cases 24 hours.
If the problem is not be solved within the given time the IP address could be blocked by our side.

IF there will be a lot of abuse reports for one customer server or account, it could lead to a cancellation of the server.

for 100 million clients, we really can't check their contents uploaded to our server (files and ...) so we 100% will get tooooooo many abuse reports and from what support dep said:

It shows that Hetzner is not Appropriate for social network or even big websites (as they said (IF there will be a lot of abuse reports for one customer server or account, it could lead to a cancellation of the server)) !!!

Question:
How some websites servers like discord located in germany, frankfort (i think it's hetzner !!!)) ?? and why they not get banned !!!!? is it because they hide their ip in cloudflare?
How even the abuse report works !!? how people submits abuse report ? and abuse report is for which contents?

I'm looking for a dedicated server with low latency (<2ms) to the Equinox NY4 data centre.

H/W wise:

min 6c/12t (8c better)
64gb mem
400gb ssd/nvme
high SLA on network availability


I have my own Windows OS, so need to be able to install it remotely.

I do not need high bandwidth so even a low 100gb/month with 100mb/s connection is ok for me as long as it's reliable and latency is as close to 0 as possible with NY4 datacentre.

I have a Ryzen 6c with 64gb/960gb SSD from Hetzner in Germany, but the latency is not great for what I need As an FYI, I'm paying about 50USD for the Hetzner. I'm expecting to pay a bit more than Hetzner, but not to break my budget either.

Please can you recommend any providers?

We are renting some servers in hetzner fsn (about 40) in different dcs with 10g connectivity. About 1 or 2 times in month we have network problems. 30 or 40 % of packet loss for one or two minutes.
It always connected to one datacenter . For example we have that problem with 7 servers in dc14 from 13:39:00 till 13:40:30 cest. Contacting support always leads to big works like additional logs, mtr and etc. We are losing a lot of time.
Hetzner support always says that the problem is on our side. But sometimes they propose to free exchange of server or server migration. But they never confirm problem on their side. That's all. We are using very different server configuration from kubernetes on bare metal to hyper-v vms with sql server. Most of our servers are amd epyc ax161.

The problems was really serious in December. We have constant problems (once a day) with all new servers in dc15. We resolved it by relocating servers to dc16 and problem disappeared for some months.

Currently we really don't know what to do. In march we had it 3 times with dc4 and dc13(not sure). Does someone has the problem? Can you advice hosting with great support and not very high prices?
