I saw a dedicated server provider who provided servers different prices on Enterprise rack and economy rack. Apparently better in enterprise rack because they put less customers there
and select the customers carefully for better connectivity?
What can that mean?
I am thinking to buy AMD EPYC 64 core Server
But I am confused in AMD EPYC 7702p vs 7702. Both spesification is same but price wise there is aprox 20% diffrent.
So my question is 7702 is good or bad? why it is cheaper?

Hi all,
I'm new here and this my first post
So I'd like to get my own dedicated server and set it up at home to be used for games only but I have no idea what kind of specs that is needed when it comes to servers and the distribution of system resources such as CPU, RAM etc. Storage is self explained obviously.
I'm looking to host like a Minecraft server, 7 days to die server, Rust server etc but in general, if possible to say, how many game servers can you run on a single machine?
What is a good server Intel Xeon CPU these days that is not overkilling my needs to run a few game servers on the machine? Is 64 GB of RAM enough to start with?
What is best for my needs when it comes to the server type like a tower or a rack?
I'm just trying to get an estimated cost to set this all up and i'm a bit overwhelmed what is enough and not so my apologies if I don't provide much information so if you need any more details in order to assist, let me know and I'd be happy to be more specific in the topic .
Internet speed is not an issue as I have 1 Gbit up and down.
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
I am starting my own business selling game servers. I am going to purchase a dedicated server monthly, install tcadmin to automatically allocate resources to new customers buying their own servers for various different video game titles. How will I know when my first dedicated server will reach its limit? In other words how will I know what prices/plans to set to flip a profit on my first dedicated server?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Can people recommend premium dedicated server providers who take uptime seriously and offer IPMI, redundant power, private networks, EPYC Rome configurations with NVMe, etc?
We don't need uncapped public network interfaces -- 25TB total between all our servers is fine, but the private network needs to be 10G+.
We used to use SoftLayer before IBM bought them. We're currently hosted with a very premium provider in Chicago but we're not getting the service we used to get there.
OVH's latest "enterprise" dedicated configurations (HG) look pretty good but... has anyone used them? Is OVH decent?
Thanks!
We have a customer with a requirement for servers in Saudi Arabia and wondered if anyone has any recommendations of providers there that we could pass onto them?
The customer has an enterprise project so requires quality provider/network rather than just the cheapest provider.
We've been with Hetzner for years and, while satisfied with the hardware and technical support and infrastructure, quite unhappy with support/sales/abuse departments where it always feels like they're doing one a favor in even answering and often make little effort to actually help.
So my question is if there's any hosting provider to match what they offer? We want to upgrade from our current servers and one type of servers we looked into are https://www.hetzner.com/dedicated-rootserver/ax41 which you can get in Germany* for 39 EUR/month (plus 39EUR setup fee) (prices without VAT as we're outside EU). This is a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Hexa-Core which has a passmark > 17,000 and comes with 64GB RAM and 2 x 512 GB NVMe SSD. When I found something similar with OVH (slightly better CPU, 3600X instead of 3600), it 105 USD per month when committing to 24 months which is more than double.
Another type we were looking at is the https://www.hetzner.com/dedicated-rootserver/ax51
Anyway, any matching offers elsewhere? We can probably take some bandwidth limitation and cool with either EU or US locations.
*They have a center in Finland but when I did a bit of research it seemed it offers much worse network connectivity so while 5 EUR cheaper per server, doesn't seem to be worth the risk.
My budget is 150-200$ for one server, I can buy max 5 servers because my storage already nearly 10TB.
- I am currently using HDD storage - 2x2 TB HDD and make it become raid 0 to use full 4 TB HDD on /root disk, but photos load very slow and blur ( customers load, not servers load ) when servers had nearly 3 TB/4 TB.
So anyone recommend best dedicated for my budget and it can load fast?
Thank all for support!

Hi,
I currently work for a company which specializes mainly in full managed hosting for larger companies and full IT outsourcing of operations like ActiveDirectory, Exchange, etc. We maintain a large stack of dedicated and also cloud VPS infrastructure for our clients in local tier3 datacenters. Recently we began to upgrade most of our server equipment and so we are left with a lot of replaced older model enterprise and consumer grade servers.
Since we never had a way of working with selling VPS or dedicated servers via web page - never tried the webhosting business in mass scale ,there was an idea that popped into my head in the last weeks. Would there be a webhosting market to reuse the replaced hardware and offer them as dedicated servers via our webpage or is this kind of hardware simply to low end even with competitive pricing?
We are currently mainly talking about DELL R610 6core servers with different RAM sizes and disks which ofcourse can be customized, and consumer grade i5 and i7 servers with custom configurations.
With our experience we would of course provide all the necesary as 99,9% uptime, DDOS, ipKVM, Unmetered bandwidth, support, as we provide for our enterprise clients from our main business model.
Any suggestion/ constructive debate is welcomed, as I said..just an idea that popped up in my mind.
Maybe this is not the correct part of the forum, so sorry in advance
