Hi,
I have a simple php script, hosted at AWS.
I made some changes to it (php modification), and checked it always afterwards.
It all seemed to work alrigtht; no problems.
Then, I clicked in backend on 'create new content',
a function that creates new content.
Afterwards, nothing worked of moved any more, freeze.
The site was out of reach for 20 mins.
After that, site was back online - but completely changed.
All content, pictures, vids, are gone.
Design switched from blue to dark grey / black.
I cannot even log into admin any more, as it says password is wrong.
Does anyone know, what may have happened?
Anyone had ever similar issues...?
Thank you
Oliver
Im needing to migrate content from our site, like OnlyFans, from Wasabi.
We allow content creators sell their content via subscriptions to their posts.
We allow content creators of all types as long as its legal.
Financial Advisors, Gamers, Artists, Photographers, Programmers and whoever else wants to sell access to their owned, created digital content.
However, some of our content creators are amateur models who post nudes.
They make up about 16% of our content creators as on June, 2021 and its growing.
It all falls within the laws and is heavily moderated plus multiple reporting options.
Needs\Wants:
I'm looking for a scalable hosting solution that allows legal porngraphic content.
I would like to start out with 2TB-4TB of SATA disk space but be able to scale up\add more as needed.
Content migration is expected to take 6-8 months.
After full migration is complete, it will be over 20TB.
Looking to pay around $30-$50\month for the 2TB\4TB plan to start off with but would also need a quote on the 20TB plan when migration is complete.
A 30-day trial would be a big plus. It will give us time to migrate our web app plus a little content to test performance. I can put down some $$ if needed though.
I'm currently considering:
SeriesN
SoYouStart
Terraform
HostDZire
NetDynamics
Flokinet
Netshop
VSYS
NexusBytes
Hello,
We are looking for a dedicated server in UK with a bit softer DMCA policy (as we know absolute DMCA ignore is not possible in the UK). We have been working with redstation for the last 5 years without any problems, however, recently we have been a target of DMCA. We host media content mostly (no pornography or any graphic content. mostly indian media content uploaded by users). Upon a DMCA notice, we quickly find the targeted content, inform the user and take down the content. Recently happening quite often. Have worked with some good hosting companies in NL, however, the connectivity is not always that good to UK and having a big part of our client base in the UK requires us to have a local dedicated server. The configuration we expect is:
Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 or higher
8 to 16GB of ram
240gb SSD (1tb hdd will do as well if no ssd option)
Bandwidth: we do around 50-60TB per month maximum. Would prefer 80 to 100TB monthly on 1gbps just in case.
Looking for recommendations.
Thank you in advance.
Hello friends,
Hetzner, I have several servers on the Company. There are many websites on my servers. One of my customers' website cloudflare was complained and this complaint was forwarded directly to Hetzner.
The content of the mail is exactly as follows.
Hetzner sent me the following e-mail. We analyzed my customer's site in detail, but we realized that Hetzner does not violate any terms of use, someone seems to have complained unnecessarily to my customer's site.
Later I did a research on Hetzner. I saw that there were some people who received this kind of mail. They say that if I do not remove my client's site, they will cut off access to my server's IP address within 24 hours.
Has anyone had such a problem?

I'm looking for a reasonably priced managed dedicated hosting solution for my small browser-based game site. I need good processing speeds and lots of storage, at least 4 TB as we are image heavy, but don't need a ton of RAM. The biggest issue is that I need someone who can actually migrate my site AND set it up in good working order. The site has been open for 11 years and while the code is old and clunky it works fine, but I don't have the knowledge to transfer and set up a site myself and I don't have a developer at this time. Once set up, the site rarely requires any attention from a server perspective. It is hosted privately atm but the person is no longer interested in hosting so I need to find a new solution asap.
I have been an IBM Cloud/SoftLayer customer since 2012. I decided to use IBM and pay an over-market premium because I trusted them. But it seems my trust has been misplaced. Yesterday, their employee <<redacted>> decided to shut down my main IP address without warning, rendering one of my websites inaccessible. <<redacted>> shut down my site without thorough investigation, based on false assumptions, without checking all facts, or giving me sufficient notice. IBM has my email address and phone number. I find this disturbing that someone can just shut down my website without any due process. I cannot trust IBM as a company. I believe this sort of behavior is unacceptable and illegal. My website's content is boring analytical - US Labor Market overview. No politics, just charts, and analysis. IBM seems to be very rough and deals with their customers like criminals. I am too old and too busy with my day job to deal with this sort of attitude. This site has been my hobby for the past 10 years. I want to find a hosting company that takes care of their customers and employees so that employees don't go ballistic running around and shutting down servers because they experience mental issues. I am currently paying around USD 200 per month. Something within this range is acceptable.
Hi!
I'm wondering if anyone know's a provider that can do the following:
5950x
64GB Ram
1TB NVMe
1Gbps (no more than 30TB needed)
Must be in Europe and must allow adult content.
The best i've found so far has been Hostkey for 186 euros p/m. Does anyone know anywhere that does a better deal than this? I've seen a few places that do them much cheaper but unfortunately don't allow adult content.
If you're wondering why i want this processor it's because i need it to be able to process CSVs with PHP as fast as possible so i need single thread performance.
Thanks in advance
I have been trying to find server admins for a Cpanel dedicated machine.
I find my experience has been the following in the last few years.
1) CHEAP -- great if nothing is needed. Low skills, low service. Outsourced to 3rd world countries. Only really available to do work during flip-flop hours (I am in USA). Never worth it in the end.
2) Affordable with either
a) GREAT service and low skills (still outsourcing to cheap freelancers?)
or
b) Poor service and low skills
3) Individual, who's pricing changes, availability changes, or business communications are not fully professional.
Is there anyone out there that has GREAT SERVICE and DECENT Pricing? or do I just need to bite it and pay $200 a month (twice the cost of the server lease) for decent administrative services?
My most recent and present experience is with a provider here from WHT. They are in the EU. Their reps log in from Germany and Greece. Usually in the US daytime, work is not done.
They told me they were UNABLE to repair the Kernel. Somehow, a previous admin had installed kernalcare and they claim it was removed and now causing errors in csf/lfd. (they didn't know how to fix it)
My only solution was to reinstall os or buy a New server from them.
Let me add, they were very pushy on how "old" my machine was and that was the reason support was slow.
they had problems backing up the system and couldn't guarantee it would work right again unless I bought anew server from them.
I didn't, they are in the EU and I am in the US, so not worth the GDPR compliance hassles.
So Did the reinstall with my DC.
Guess what, same problems...and more. For days. Their "pro-active" admin didn't catch these errors. I had to report them. eventually many of them got them fixed.
Except now, most sites are NOT working properly.
Basic things like .htaccess file and default.htm not recognized and working.
They told me because there are so many possibilities of php/configurations, we need to go through every site and test every function, then let them know, site by site, issue by issue.
Except they all worked fine before...
I have lost a LOT OF TIME and MONEY with this.
So, now, once again, looking for a company that can work with CPANEL and not blame the last admin or the server on their inability to manage it.
Anyone else have this issue?
how did you resolve it, just keep trying and trying, month after month with company after company?
Normally, I would just go with a dedicated machine that came with management. I didn't have these problems when I did. But the servers cost 3 times as much.
I guess I am asking, am I missing something or Is this just part of saving money on a dedi? No way around it except to just pay for the topline?
Last I was reading here it, they changed their name but what happened next? I remember it was an interesting provider back in the 2000's.
Hello everyone. Have been a long time lurker, but never registered. So, firstly want to say big thank you to this wholesome community for always giving great advices to everyone out there. You guys rock!
I am trying to find an alternative to Hetzner's SX133 which is ridiculously great priced. How do they even do that? Well done Hetzner. On 24/03/2021 - SX133's specs a
Intel® Xeon® W-2145 8 cores, 16 threads,
128 GB DDR4 ECC,
2 x 960 GB NVMe SSD,
10 x 16 TB (SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 rpm) a whooping 160 TB of storage,
1 Gbit/s connection,
Unlimited traffic,
159.00 (without TAX)
I need this for an image hosting website, where users do sometimes upload adult content. Sadly Hetzner TOS (point 6.2) does not allow that and they are entitled to block access to the account of any customer who violates this. Which is fine - it's their rules.
My budget is 180 EUR (without TAX), but I don't even need such fancy specs as Hetzner provides. I am completely okay to settle with something like:
4 core, 8 thread CPU,
32 GB DRR3 ECC,
2 or even 1 240 GB SATA SSD,
The most important factor is storage. The more the better, the minimum would be ~100 TB (SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 rpm)
1 Gbit/s connection,
Website last month traffic was 500 TB, but since 90% is cached by CDN...would still need about 50 TB. Obviously unlimited traffic would be great.
Seems like very few hosting companies actually offer dedicated servers for storage purposes. I have already checked OVH, Leaseweb, OneProvider, Flaunt7 and some local country hostings, but it seems like noone is even close in comparison to what Hetzner offers. It's like their offer is from the future and hopefully in 1-2 years time, others will get there as well.
It be nice if server were located somewhere close to West/Middle of Russia.
P.S As another option, maybe I could rent more then one dedicated server so that their storage capacity would be ~100 TB and going with CEPH instead of RAID6, but still, can't exced 180 EUR budget. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
helo
anyone face similar issue like me the dedicated server suddenly completely down.. after some complaining to the support.. all raid disk cant access and no partition on it..
and one if their support said the disk is pulled due do child porn.. no warrning.. no information and suddenly they act like that. if i ask more detail which ip and domain , they cant answer it and dont want to give more information..
really funny about this big NAP company .. i suspect that my server accidentally removed by their system.
at first i suspend network or hardware problem.. mode investigation make me more confusing because their support seems do not say the truth ..
