RAM Usage showing error

Hi,
For 1 week, my one server is showing RAM usage on WHM is a little confusing.

Code:
[root@thor ~]# free -h
              total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem:            31G        7.8G        1.1G        919M         22G         19G
Swap:          1.9G        906M        1.0G
[root@thor ~]#
The above record is from the terminal.

But WHM Status page is showing like this.

Code:
Memory Used	79.6% (25,999,432 of 32,661,312)
The terminal is showing correctly.

But the WHM Status page is showing it with cache also.

Is there any idea how can we fix that thing as normal?

Could I reduce the RAM from 256G to 64G?

Hello,

Presently my dedicated server have 256G RAM, when I type free -g, it shows that

total: 251 used:8 free:136 shared:0 buff/cache:106 available:241

I know that the 241G available RAM includes the 106G buff/cache, can I reduce the RAM from 256G to 64G without affecting the performance of my websites?

Used only 80 GB of disk but virtualizor panel showing 185 GB used!

So I am using virtualizor for about a month, since then I have used a total of 80 GB of space in two of my KVM VPS server. But in virtualizor panel, it's showing 185 GB space used! I think there is maybe some unusual files or anything else IDK :/

Do someone know how to clear them?

Warning: MariaDB error in last cPanel version + Solution

Hi friends,

In last MariaDB version have an error which block cPanel Database interface with this message:

The MySQL server is currently offline.
The adminbin “cpmysql” in the “Cpanel” namespace call to function “DBCACHE” ended prematurely: The subprocess reported the “” (255) error when it ended Various sysadmins reported this error in cPanel forum, I too had him.

MariaDB version with error: 10.3.26

For solve him you have 2 posibilities:

1- Outdate to version 10.3.25, I solved him with this command:

Code:
yum downgrade MariaDB-server MariaDB-common MariaDB-shared MariaDB-client MariaDB-compat MariaDB-devel -y
2- Disable this option (this not works always, some sysadmins notified that need change MariaDB version to 10.3.25 for solve the problem):

Code:
WHM » Server Configuration » Tweak Settings » SQL » Use INFORMATION_SCHEMA to acquire MySQL disk usage
You have more information in cPanel forum: https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/th...ffline.474561/

I hope that this problem not broke your servers. Have a nice day.

ipv6 not showing in nginx access log

if the ip of the visitor is ipv6, then $remote_addr is not showing the correct IP address.
the issue is similar to this
https://github.com/nginxinc/docker-nginx/issues/18

I want to have the correct ipv6 address. How can I do that?

I can't install cPanel over CentOS Linux release 8.4.2105

Hello.

after of we install CentOS 8.4.2105 and BEFORE of install cPanel:
PHP Code: [root@pepsi]# systemctl --no-pager -l restart network.service
[root@pepsi]# systemctl restart network.service
[root@pepsi]#
after of we install cPanel 96.0 (build 9):
PHP Code: [root@pepsi]# systemctl --no-pager -l restart network.service
(the connection to server DEAD, not exist response, result, "second line")

I believe the most important file aboout netwrok service is Code:
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
and this is the content: Code:
DEVICE=enp2s0
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=none
IPADDR=My.Ip.Public
PREFIX=32
GATEWAY=Ip.For.Customers
DEFROUTE=yes

IPV6INIT=yes
IPV6ADDR=Ip.For.Customers::2/64
IPV6_DEFAULTGW=fe80::1
IPV6_DEFROUTE=yes
please some idea about how we can fix the error?

in forms cPanel nobody reply, perhaps because MODERATOR reply "open ticket", and yes, we open ticket but:

The answer from cPanel support:

"""We are not able to assist with networking configurations, the networking configuration of your server is not modified or configured by cPanel/WHM this would be best performed by your host/data center or a qualified systems administrator. BYE."""

The answer from ISP support:

""" We give to you TEMPLATE of CentOS 8, if you connect in begin, then NOT IS our problem. Reinstall template. BYE. """

Is this server good for what I need - WordPress

Hi all

I have the following server:

AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 3600
6 cores x 3.6GHz
32GB RAMDDR4 ECC
2 x 1TB HDDSoftware RAID 1
Network: 1GB
UK server
Plesk
All for £60 a month

This will be used primarily for 1 x wordpress site that will have links showing videos from YouTube and articles with images and also a forum.

Whats your opinion on this server and will it be more ideal for the site as I'm guessing that WordPress is resource hungry.

Appreciated
Steve

Can't change password from recovery mode?

Hello, I installed ubuntu server on a kimsufi server.
To access the server I used the default password OVH sent me when I installed ubuntu.
It was under the 'secre' page.
I thought the page was there to stay but they removed the page after the first week so I basically lost my password now as I didn't exported the password anywhere.

Starting from 0 it's not a drama since in a week a didn't much, but if possible I would recover the server.

So, at the moment I enabled the recovery mode and get the access to the partitions. I see there are 3 partitions but apparently I can mount only two and one is swap. And in these two I can't find my previous admin user which name is ubuntu.

What am I doing wrong? I attach the screen

Replacing a Hard Drive with RAID1 ( Software RAID )

This is my first post on Web Hosting Talk Forum. I need your help. My server consists of 2 hard drives. 1TB x 2 SATA. In last week my server gets slow down and the data center noticed that I have an issue with my hard drive. They said " We are showing drive SDB is failing and will need to be replaced, " They asked me to take a backup and replace the hard drive immediately.

I have 2 hard drives and I have installed CentOS 7 with software RAID 1 ( Software RAID ). So now my question is do I need to restore the backup once we replace the hard drive. ? or is it syncing with RAID without any manual backup restoration ?
