Hi there,
Can people recommend premium dedicated server providers who take uptime seriously and offer IPMI, redundant power, private networks, EPYC Rome configurations with NVMe, etc?
We don't need uncapped public network interfaces -- 25TB total between all our servers is fine, but the private network needs to be 10G+.
We used to use SoftLayer before IBM bought them. We're currently hosted with a very premium provider in Chicago but we're not getting the service we used to get there.
OVH's latest "enterprise" dedicated configurations (HG) look pretty good but... has anyone used them? Is OVH decent?
Thanks!
Hello,
I am looking for premium* dedicated server providers offering Intel Scalable Processors. (Or the latest Processor that can offer min 2x16Core (without HT))
I would prefer EU location but any US location with better pings to South Asia would work as well.
So far, I have looked into LeaseWeb, PhoenixNap, Hivelocity. Wondering what else is out there .. Any provider you think gives similar network and support to their clients?
Premium = Support is always available for any network / server / hardware related issue. And any issue gets address timely. (Don't have to wait an hour for an update). Don't need full management.
Thanks
I'm looking for dedicated servers (6-8 servers) with the following configurations:
CPU i9-9900K
RAM 64GB
SSD 500GB / 1TB
Unmetered network / no limits
Possibility to install my own OS by rescue system
KVM access (if possible)
No setup fees
Collocation Germany
Do you guys know any providers who offers such at a decent price?
I would go on hetzner, but, their setup fees of $670 would kill me
Lets say I had a budget of $40-50 per server, any providers with that range?
I heard of Tempest hosting from several Discord servers, and give it a try.
Bought an M610 dedicated server in Amsterdam, running X5677, 32GB RAM, 900GB storage, 10gbps dedicated unmetered port. yes, you're not reading it wrong.
Onboarding process, it was smooth sailing. Registered, paid, and their IPMI system will automatically install the OS I chose. They also provide "Firewall Manager", where we can add filters on what ports/ips/protocols should be allowed/rejected to our server IP. They also provide DDoS filters, such as OpenVPN/VSE/TCP/TS3.
Compared to other providers, specs/hardware wise, there are far better options (ryzen/epyc/E5), but considering the price, no other providers can offer what they offer. 10gbit unmetered dedicated port for only US$150/mo!?
They do offer Ryzen servers, but I think it's a pre-order system and takes 2-6 weeks.
Network wise, the downside is that they're not on any exchanges/IXs (AMS-IX, DE-CIX, NL-IX, LINX, etc). They only use tier-1 upstreams (GTT & NTT), so sometimes routing outside of Europe (specifically Asia Pacific) is a bit weird.
In terms of support, they offer two options, either via WHMCS or their Discord server. All of the people who I talk to are friendly and knowledgeable.
Overall, for $150/mo, 10gbps unmetered port, it's fantastic. I hope that more & better specs will be available in the near future.
Greetings,
i need reliable dedicated (8+ servers) with:
- 4tb SSD / NVMe in total
- 128GB RAM
- 16+ cores (intel or AMD doesn't matter)
dual power supply and private vlan will be a bonus
bugdet is up to 300 EUR
now we with Hetzner / OVH but not satisfied with both of them
Hi there!
I currently have 3 Proxmox servers in a cluster with OVH, but their customer service is shocking to say the least.
I've been trying to find a similar provider, but I can't find anything near as comparable for the price/spec I'm after.
The spec for each server is:
AMD Epyc 7351P - 16c/32t - 2.4 GHz/2.9 GHz
256 GB ECC 2400 MHz
2500 GB SSD NVMe
UK (This is a must)
Proxmox VE 6
I don't need any managed services, just access to the bare metal.
Can anyone recommend a provider who can provide me with a similar spec and price to these? I currently pay around £200/month per server.
Thanks!
I'm looking for a low-end dedicated host that is slightly better than Nocix (e.g. ~2x cost with better service). I've been with Nocix/Datashack for quite a while with various servers, and they very nearly offer exactly what I need: low cost, good hardware, plug in the server, keep it plugged in, keep it running, keep the network connected, generally don't screw things up hardware-wise. Unfortunately, they do have quite a few problems (random outages, bad UPS, network goes bye-bye, etc.) and also very frustratingly they generally handle these outages very badly (don't announce or acknowledge them, don't respond to tickets in good time, support staff aren't familiar with basic network tools), and also don't fix the things they screwed up or provide any way for me to fix them (no IPMI/KVM, support refuse to to tell me what's on the screen when the server won't boot after their blown UPS / 'redundant' power failure messed up the bootloader, etc.).
Question: who is slightly better than Nocix? Similar low-end focus, but with slightly better service, though not e.g. 10x more expensive? Preferably with IPMI/KVM. Ideas sought!
Hi Guys,
I guess they deserve to have this feedback, I've been using wholesaleinternet dedicated servers since 1st of January 2013 over 8 years damn! I am getting old
I used to have dedicated server with expensive providers before I met wholesaleinternet, believe or not I have less problem with wholesaleinternet after I changed from previous dedi provider. I have 0 problem last 5-6 years. These guys knows what they are doing from management to support, they have backup power, backup internet providers etc to maintain servers in good shape.
Price: I don't think you would find better pricing than wholesaleinternet I also have ovh budget dedicated servers close to wholesaleinternet prices they are also good after wholesaleinternet.
Support: When I had dedicated server with expensive service providers, response time of tickets around 2-12 hours. believe or not every time I create ticket with wholesaleinternet they response and make it happen solution nearly in an hour. My last interact was I need to have KVM and they installed within 30min. I have no words with these guys they are not only fast but also proactive.
We have some older SolusVM nodes in the UK & NL that we are looking to upgrade to Proxmox. Our current hosts have been fairly reliable from an uptime/network perspective but not the greatest when it comes to support. Not that we need it very often but when a node is having issues, response times and capable support techs are important. That being said we are looking provider for recommendations with the following requirements.
1) Familiar with Proxmox however we will take care of installing/managing Proxmox via IPMI/ssh/web interface.
2) Able to provide custom hardware configs and possibly private VLAN's for backups or subnet overlays for multiple nodes to share IP space.
3) Responsive support with a clue and knowledgeable pre-sales staff to help spec the servers.
4) Tier 4 DC in London and Amsterdam (or can be 2 different providers).
We're also considering just reselling VPS services so we're also open recommendations on VPS resellers in those locations.
And Go.....
TIA
I am planning to purchase a dedicated server to virtualize with proxmox. I have gone through OVH and hetzner plans but I was more attracted to online.net (scaleway dedibox) better than the first two. Have anyone used online.net dedicated servers over UAE location? How is the speed? Please let me know which of these companies will be providing the best server and if you have any better suggestion (within the price range of these companies).
Any of these providers does not have any DC in UAE or GCC. As such, please do let me know the DC location to be selected along with the server provider.
I am in need of a dedicated server for my business which will be running a white-label version of Mailwizz.
The amount of clients is approx 25 and growing daily.
These clients run various websites, blogs, membership clubs, create courses etc etc..
They have email lists that range anywhere between 5k to 500k subscribers.
The server I need WILL NOT be in charge of sending email to these lists. It's main purpose is housing the self-hosted email marketing application Mailwizz.
I am looking for a quality host that can handle the following requirements to run Mailwizz:
- Linux operating system
- Apache/Nginx webserver
- PHP >= 5.2
- MySQL/MariaDB, with InnoDB storage engine
- Cron Jobs access (linux crons not web crons please)
My budget is around $150-200/mo for a single dedicated CPU. I can allocate more of a budget if you think dual cpu is necessary.
I have these in mind:

I am even considering a Ryzen setup from either ProlimeHost or Hivelocity which has servers using EPYC. Although I am not sure if it's wise to go with consumer-grade hardware for this setup?
This is the one from ProlimeHost:
AMD Ryzen 3700x
8 cores 16 threads
64 GB
480G SSD or 2TB HDD
40 TB
$119/m
DatabaseByDesignLLC also has a special going on for a dual cpu server with 96gb ram although they are using an older X5560 cpu.
Not sure if that's too outdated though...
