Good Afternoon and Happy Friday to Everyone :-)
I am seeking the advice/opinions of the WHT Community here. We were involved in the April 4th Data Center Fire up in Ogden, Utah. My server is back online, but now one of the Hard Drives is failing and I have to fight with the server daily to keep it online.
I am hoping that through your own personal experiences you can share with me your thoughts and suggestions of where one might look for a similar server at a cost effective price. Following is our current configuration:
Dual Intel Xeon E5-2680v2, 128GB DDR3 ECC, 2 x 10TB SAS HDD, HW RAID-1, 1Gbps Port, 100TB Outbound, /27. There is an onboard IPMI and they include our Windows Server 2019 Standard License.
I have put a few feelers out and everyone is around the $500/Month mark. We currently pay $244 and there is no way that I can come anywhere close to the $500 ask. Does anyone have any thoughts where I may find a similar server and be online quickly?
Your help is most definitely appreciated!
Hey Everyone,
I am in urgent need of a new Dedicated Server. I have a server with WebNX and they have been down for 16+ hours with no ETA's given.
Here is what I have with WebNX: Intel Xeon W-1290P, 128GB DDR4 ECC, 1.6TB NVMe, 1Gbps Port, 100TB, /29 (iGPU). (Utah)
I would like the server in the US preferably LA, UTAH, Seattle, Texas.
I am looking for something similar around.
Any hosts that have anything comparable would be great or any suggestion from the community would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Again.

Looking for these in the West Coast USA.
500TB storage server/s, nvme drives for cache, 1gbps (10gbps for a month if possible) unmetered incoming, 40gbps private networking (aggregate if on multiple storage servers)
15 x server with iGPU, 32gb Ram, 1tb ssd/nvme, 1gbps private network, 1gbps public with at least 40TB outgoing.
We require free private networking for all servers.
Looking for something close to the pricing of webnx.

Thanks.
This current admin company is driving me insane! They are literally making my server worse...
I have lost so much money in production time of not being able to develop websites!
This sever is for basic business sites.
So I am moving this server from dedicated self-managed (with 3rd party admin) and now need a fully managed server.
This is just to host multiple websites. so we very rarely have issues on the server.
I need cpanel/whm
I am used to having multiple processors with multiple cores, but they are quite old, so maybe the more powerful processors can beat it?
It's an old server but has been a workhorse for development with no real issues.
i'd like the equivalent or better. Ideally under $200 month ($150 would be great!)
-- is this even possible?
who do you recommend? Any black friday/cyber Monday specials?

IOFLOOD 3 Month Review
I signed up with IOFLOOD for a Dual E5-2680v2 dedicated server about 3 months ago and wanted to give an update.
When signing up there is a 24-72 hour set up time. They were able to set me up earlier as I was a Webnx refugee. (If set up time is important to you, just take a note)
Let's talk speed, the speed test's download is 600 Mbps and upload 400 Mbps
Now, server response time for webpages is 100 MS or less from the tests done.
Sometimes email response time is a little slower than the liquid webs of the world. (10 minute response time or less). But we have had little reason to contact support.
Most important of all is uptime. We have had 100% uptime since signing up. We did have downtime recently for a ram upgrade. (Which is to be expected).
So, I would give them an A+
I have upgraded some features of my server. But current specs and price are below. I added additional RAM from the base set up and some additional IP's.. But couldn't be happier with the service and the price is quite reasonable.
Server specs and price
Dual E5-2680v2, 100TB / mo bandwidth on 1gbps, 256GB RAM, 2x 1.6TB NVMe SSD, unmanaged, 2x /29 IPs, $191.50.
I'm a small business owner and developer since 2003. We have a few dedicated servers, each one with a different host. One of these hosts was sold and the new owner wants us to use a new server in a new location. We are considering switching to another host. This server runs some important client web sites, our own site, and web apps we're developing.
What we're looking for:
- unmanaged bare metal dedicated server, Intel Xeon 4c/8t minimum, 6 or 8 core preferred
- 16GB RAM, 32GB RAM preferred
- 1TB (or 960GB) SSD, 2 x SSD software RAID preferred
- FreeBSD 11 or 12 (our other servers are FreeBSD 11.4)
- $140/month or less (we're paying $130/month now for the current server, no SSD, 16GB)
- US data center, east coast preferred
Obviously we want a decent data center and good customer support but we also want a company who is going to be around for the next 10 years and isn't likely to be bought up by some Wall Street investment firm who doesn't care about the customers of the smaller hosting firms they're purchasing.
Hosts I'm researching:
- Vultr
- OVHcloud (the US branch)
- Linode
- Hivelocity
So far, OVH seems to have the exact hardware, price point, and data center but their billing system worries me.
If you have any experience with these hosts, good or bad, please share. If you work for one of these hosts, I'm open to offers.
thanks,
Robert
Hey all,
I'm looking for suggestions for a new dedicated servers based East Coast USA, all my servers are European based so I don't know any good US based server companies. I'm in need of a server with
Atleast a 6c/12t CPU /Intel Xeon etc
Between 64GB & 128GB RAM
1 Gbps unmetered bandwidth
4TB Storeage (either 1x4TG or 2x2TB merged)
Ubuntu 18.04 OS (custom software for clients demands 18.04)
So suggestions welcome, but please no OVH or Hetzner suggestions as I don't use them, had bad experiences with both.
Cheers
I am in need of a dedicated server for my business which will be running a white-label version of Mailwizz.
The amount of clients is approx 25 and growing daily.
These clients run various websites, blogs, membership clubs, create courses etc etc..
They have email lists that range anywhere between 5k to 500k subscribers.
The server I need WILL NOT be in charge of sending email to these lists. It's main purpose is housing the self-hosted email marketing application Mailwizz.
I am looking for a quality host that can handle the following requirements to run Mailwizz:
- Linux operating system
- Apache/Nginx webserver
- PHP >= 5.2
- MySQL/MariaDB, with InnoDB storage engine
- Cron Jobs access (linux crons not web crons please)
My budget is around $150-200/mo for a single dedicated CPU. I can allocate more of a budget if you think dual cpu is necessary.
I have these in mind:
MOJOHOST FAST E3-2: Xeon 4 Cores 8 Threads, 2 Storage Bays - $159
E3 Intel Xeon CPU
4/8/8M Cores/Threads/Cache
3.2/3.9 Gigahertz (min/max)
16 GB DDR3 1600 ECC RAM
(2) 1 TB Enterprise HDD Storage
(2) Total Drive Bays
1,000 Megabit WAN Uplink
1,000 Megabit LAN Uplink
25,000 GB Included Transfer
.01 Cost per GB Over
MOJOHOST FAST E3-6: Xeon 4 Cores 8 Threads, 6 Storage Bays - $199
E3 Intel Xeon CPU
4/8/8M Cores/Threads/Cache
3.2/3.9 Gigahertz (min/max)
16 GB DDR3 1600 ECC RAM
(4) 1 TB Enterprise HDD Storage
RAID CARD Optional
(6) Total Drive Bays
1,000 Megabit WAN Uplink
1,000 Megabit LAN Uplink
25,000 GB Included Transfer
.01 Cost per GB Over
ProlimeHost
Intel 2276G
6 cores, 12 threads
32 GB
480G SSD or 2TB HDD
40 TB
$99/mo
I am even considering a Ryzen setup from either ProlimeHost or Hivelocity which has servers using EPYC. Although I am not sure if it's wise to go with consumer-grade hardware for this setup?
This is the one from ProlimeHost:
AMD Ryzen 3700x
8 cores 16 threads
64 GB
480G SSD or 2TB HDD
40 TB
$119/m
DatabaseByDesignLLC also has a special going on for a dual cpu server with 96gb ram although they are using an older X5560 cpu.
Not sure if that's too outdated though...
96GB + SSD Dedicated Server
Dedicated Server Specifications:
Dual Quad Core
96GB ECC DDR3 Memory
1x 240GB SSD
1Gbps Public Network Port
100TB Premium Bandwidth
1 Public IPv4 Address

i want the same server from hetzner directly. i searched in server auction but NIC is I219 did not find I210
anyone could tell is I219 is better than I210 or not? i am newbie
and the configuration he sent same config is available in hetzner or not?
and that guy said he have rack from hetzner, what about it??
i am asking in forum because i can get more knowledge and explaination here
please share your replies.
Rackspace has recently tripled their prices with us after our contract was up. So, we have servers that they are trying to force us to sign a new contract with them for a considerably higher price.
So, with that being said, we need 5 dedicated machines with these specs or similar:
Server Platform: Dual Processor Multi-Core Dedicated Server - Dell R720
• Processor: Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2640, 15M Cache, 2.50 GHz, Hex Core QTY: 2
• Random Access Memory: 128GB
• RAID, Set 1: RAID 1
• Drive Selection, Set 1: 600GB 15K SAS 3.5inch QTY: 2
• RAID, Set 2: RAID 5
• Drive Selection, Set 2: 600GB 15K SAS 3.5inch QTY: 3
• Drive Partitioning: Rackspace Suggested Partitioning QTY: 1
• Operating System: Windows Server 2016 Datacenter 64Bit QTY: 8
We will need about 12 ip addresses per machine.
We will supply our own windows licensing. Drive space cannot be less but definitely would like more space.
They would need to be in the USA. The time frame for 1 machine would be needed as soon as possible whereas the other 4, we will need as time permits to move the data over.
We need reliability, which is something Rackspace does well.
I hope I covered everything.
Thanks!
