I want create Streaming server, i have more than 100K online users.
this is the first time that i will use servers for Streaming, so i want know how many servers i need for this number of online users?
Will I find support that can equip servers and link them together?
Intro:
We ordered our first server from TailorMadeServers in March 2021 for few customers using BigBlueButton for their online conferences. And now we have 39 servers with them. The fully story is below.
Hardwa 10/10
What we like about TailorMadeServers is their unique baremetal servers. Just send a contact e-mail to ask building the server with your required hardware and configuration and almost all the possible configurations are possible if the hardware is available in the market. We first started with a small 1271v3 server then we got a Ryzen 3900XT for our BigBlueButton MP4 SaaS and now we have around 30 servers with dual E5-2620v3 running web-conferences with media streaming.
Pricing: 9/10
The pricing is unbeatable, one of the lowest we could find among the competition.
Support: 9/10
TailorMadeServers provided us with servers in little to no time after the incident of OVH, and with higher CPU capacity!
They helped us set 33 servers in a matter of 4 hours, which means 1 server every 7 minutes.
We have managed with the help of TailorMadeServers, to bring back the BigBlueButton conferencing system to all our customers affected by OVHFIRE in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and some other countries.
100% of our Bigbluebutton web-conferencing capacity wouldn't be possible after 24 hours from OVH-FIRE without the incredible support and commitment of TailorMadeServers.
Service: 9/10
Recently, one of the BigBlueButton servers at Tailor Made Servers has attained 742 concurrent participants across 15 meetings and we had no post complaints from our customers.
Moreover, below is an example of some of the web conferencing capacity and number of concurrent users within our customers servers at Tailor Made:
- University 1 in Middle East: 77% of web-conferencing capacity. (4000 to 4600 concurrent users)
- University 1 in Middle East Exams & Admission: 100% of web-conferencing capacity. (300-600 concurrent users with high demand on webcams)
- University 2 in Middle East: 100% of web-conferencing capacity. (800-1000 concurrent users)
- University 3 in Middle East (Dental care and pharmacy): 100% of web-conferencing capacity. (1200-1500 concurrent users)
- A call center for medical appointment schedule and tele-consultation: (40 to 50 schedule daily)
Features: 8/10
- On-Demand hardware.
- Remote Reboot
- 100Mbps Ports
- DDoS Protection
Network: 8.5/10
The network is reasonably stable, bandwidth ports are becoming increasingly more generous as time passes!
No major network problems can be mentioned, and while there has been some rare speed drop, the overall experience has been positive.
Furthermore, their DDoS security is excellent. Usually, every single server under the TMS umbrella is protected 24/7.
We would like to see offers with 250Mbps ports.
Outro:
You will receive friendly and personal support at all stages, from pre-sales questions to your server provisioning.
Once you are hosted with TailorMadeServer, you will only wish you had tried TailorMadeServer sooner!
So I'm new at the world of Video Streaming but I want to know what kind of server do we need to stream video to 15000 people at the same moment?
Do we need more processor? more ram? SSD nve disk? or maybe I should focus on the streaming speed?
What kind of operating system should i need?
Somebody recommended me Wowza.
Whats your experience doing this?
Hello,
I apologize if I'm not using the right terminology or if I am really new to this.
A few months ago, I started a website where people can upload short videos (50 MB max). Unfortunately, some users have complained that the upload speed on my website is lower compared to similar websites. The upload speed on my website only reaches 8mbps but the two similar websites have upload speed between 12-16 mbps. After talking to the host about the problem, they told me the following: There's still an issue which we'll be resolving in the future with our network that when there's a high latency between the server and the client the connection will slow down for some reason.
I have tested my website and the 2 similar websites from my home internet and the internet of several other friends, and I have seen similar results for the upload speed.
I am currently using a VPS from Scalahosting and their customer service has been amazing, but I do want to change providers as I would like my users to have a higher upload speed when uploading videos.
I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on what host I can use for either a dedicated server or a streaming server? I am really new to this so I would need a managed services. The budget is not a problem so any server with a high upload speed for the users will be good.
Any help would be appreciate it.
one of my new clients needs to buy a new server. He runs a private school online. He runs all courses online. As he said he needs 40 TB monthly bandwidth . According to him , about 15000 students visit his courses every day. All of the course videos have been added to his website. But he does not do live streaming. Anybody can visit his website and watch those videos anytime. Can the following server meet his requirement ? I kindly request the advice of the experts here.
Supermicro 2xE5-2680v1
32GB 2x512GB SSD
100 Mbps Limit - Unmetered
I'm investing in the system to run the automated tool in the browser, I'm wondering the following problems, hope you can help me.
The servers I'll be running Promox on create multiple Windows 2012 VMs.
Should I buy XEON E* series servers or Xeon Sliver, Xeon Gold, Or AMD Ryzen.. ? I am targeting server rental units like Hetzner, Workldstream.
The purpose of each Promox server is to create many VMs, so when buying a server I need to pay attention to core theard ?
The intel and AMD lines have different number of cores and theards which confuses me
Each VM I will create is 1 socket, 2 cores, 5G ram.
Should I buy low CPU lines to have more cores instead of buying a powerful server with only a few dozen cores for example?
Looking forward to just replying. So that I can optimize costs and improve performance.
Here is the %CPU image I will be running, currently I am on a Hetzner server. Please advise, With the tool % cpu and ram I am running like this, which server should I invest in to be able to create the most VMs to optimize costs.

Thank you
We are renting some servers in hetzner fsn (about 40) in different dcs with 10g connectivity. About 1 or 2 times in month we have network problems. 30 or 40 % of packet loss for one or two minutes.
It always connected to one datacenter . For example we have that problem with 7 servers in dc14 from 13:39:00 till 13:40:30 cest. Contacting support always leads to big works like additional logs, mtr and etc. We are losing a lot of time.
Hetzner support always says that the problem is on our side. But sometimes they propose to free exchange of server or server migration. But they never confirm problem on their side. That's all. We are using very different server configuration from kubernetes on bare metal to hyper-v vms with sql server. Most of our servers are amd epyc ax161.
The problems was really serious in December. We have constant problems (once a day) with all new servers in dc15. We resolved it by relocating servers to dc16 and problem disappeared for some months.
Currently we really don't know what to do. In march we had it 3 times with dc4 and dc13(not sure). Does someone has the problem? Can you advice hosting with great support and not very high prices?
Hi Guys,
I guess they deserve to have this feedback, I've been using wholesaleinternet dedicated servers since 1st of January 2013 over 8 years damn! I am getting old
I used to have dedicated server with expensive providers before I met wholesaleinternet, believe or not I have less problem with wholesaleinternet after I changed from previous dedi provider. I have 0 problem last 5-6 years. These guys knows what they are doing from management to support, they have backup power, backup internet providers etc to maintain servers in good shape.
Price: I don't think you would find better pricing than wholesaleinternet I also have ovh budget dedicated servers close to wholesaleinternet prices they are also good after wholesaleinternet.
Support: When I had dedicated server with expensive service providers, response time of tickets around 2-12 hours. believe or not every time I create ticket with wholesaleinternet they response and make it happen solution nearly in an hour. My last interact was I need to have KVM and they installed within 30min. I have no words with these guys they are not only fast but also proactive.
We currently use Tailor Made Servers for one of our servers. We have 5 more with Rackspace.
We run virtual machines on these servers. Here are the specs we have:
Dual Xeon E5-2620v3
192GB DDR4 RAM
250GB SSD
1TB SSD
1TB SSD
1TB SSD
~12 additional ip addresses
22000 Gigs Bandwidth (currently)
Initially, we are looking for one dedicated server. If the network and server are stable then we'll look at moving the other servers with it.
We are looking to combine them at one location. The reason why we are looking for new servers is that Tailor Made Servers doesn't give us enough bandwidth and we are being charged for additional bandwidth. We are paying $384.00 a month for what we currently have not including bandwidth overage charges.
Not sure if I'm missing anything. I'll respond accordingly if so.
Thanks!
Hi friends,
I configured a Cluster DNS with:
-1 Master server (WHM/cPanel)
-3 slave servers (with 3 VPS, cPanel DNSOnly): dns1.mydomain.com -> VPS 1, dns2.mydomain.com -> VPS 2, dns3.mydomain.com -> VPS3
But I have some questions and not found replies in google. I never used Cluster DNS (I always create 3 DNS for each webhosting server). This is the last step for finalize the migration's odyssey and can forgot the old server with her problems. I'll be very grateful if you reply me this last questions:
1- I goes to Master server (WHM/cPanel) -> DNS Cluster -> "Enable DNS Clustering". I need do the same step in Salve servers or not is needed?.
2- I went to Master server (WHM/cPanel) -> DNS Cluster -> Add a new server to the cluster -> Configure -> And I added the 3 slave servers here. I keep the default options: Setup Reverse Trust Relationship = Enabled, Synchronize Zones Immediately = Enabled, Debug mode = disabled, DNS Role = Standalone.
I need do the same step between the slave servers?, for example: go to to slave server 1 -> DNS Cluster -> Add a new server to the cluster -> Configure -> Add the SLAVE SERVER 2 AND 3.
Also I need add the master server to the slave servers?.
My current configuration is: ONLY ADDED SLAVE SERVERS TO MASTER SERVER.
3- The "Standalone" mode is the correct mode? or "Synchronize changes" is better?.
4- I added this 3 new DNS to the webhosting server (WHM/cPanel -> Basic WebHost Manager -> Nameservers). But I see that anybody can add my DNS to her WHM/cPanel and send her Zone DNS to my Cluster DNS. How can I block other webhosting servers and only permit Zone DNS from my webhosting servers?.
Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.
hello,
For about 100eur, i can get managed Hetzner server: hetzner.com/managed-server
OR unmanaged Hetzner server + platinumservermanagement.com/ (or + myw.pt/devops).
What will be a better option?
I have no experience as System Administrator.
I will like to keep the server fast, optimized, and online.
I don't plan to host many websites on the server, I need a server for a couple of large websites.
So optimization of servers for sites is very important to me.
For optimization I mean, cache optimization, database optimization, server optimization for WordPress, etc...
Is anyone have experience with Hetzner managed servers?
Best Regards
