Dedioutlet.com most incompetent provider I've ever encountered.

I rented a dedicated server about 6 months ago and at the beginning it wasn't really any issues.
Heres the downtime report https://i.imgur.com/mE5V2eJ.png

At the beginning i encountered few downtimes but that was due their network being compromised and it can happend sometimes and the owner promise they will upgrade their infrastructure to fix this issue.
After few months after, my server lost power and rebooted. The owner replied back that they will fix this issue but the same issue occured again however their provided reason at that time was because their UPS malfunctioned.
Few more downtimes after that incident, they said, fire department told them to shutdown their power, while their electricity provider had an occuring issues beyond their help. Excuses keep piling on and its almost as if they dont even have UPS.

Last year october and november my server started to randomely reboot with seemlingly no explanation. I hired sysadmin and they couldnt find an issue. They suggested this could be a hardware issue. Due to the hardware parts it would take provider months before the provider can replace all the hardwares so i had to wait.
And waiting i did, and until when the day finally arrived. From all my exchanges with this company, ive only talked with the actual owner. This seems to be really a one man show. Worst is that this owner is incompetent.

So we went through with the server swap, changing ssd to the new server hardware. However issue occured with the new hardware enviroment not recognizing my ssd partitions. Sysadmin couldnt do much in rescue mode as they cant gain the error logs which dracut provided in the failure mode.
The issue is that the dracut log is generated in a volatile disk path so ifwe rebooted the logs would be gone.

The owner had significant issues where the server didnt recognize the flash drives so we couldnt export the logs.
This was a 24 hours conversation exchange. We litterally end up googling. Even the owner was googling and asking if a centos forum post could be the solution.

I asked if they can setup a KVM so my sysadmin can access the dracut logs.
24 hours after, the owner still has problem setting up kvm.
That was my last patience with this provider. I told him to change back to the old server hardware and the server was online again. I ordered a new server from a different provider(reliablehostingservices.net) and did rsync and terminated my server with dedioutlet.

The sheer amount of incompetence is just baffling. Owner googling for solution, trying to ask his "developer" on how to fix kvm setup to no avail.

Dedicated Server with Intel Scalable Processors

Hello,

I am looking for premium* dedicated server providers offering Intel Scalable Processors. (Or the latest Processor that can offer min 2x16Core (without HT))
I would prefer EU location but any US location with better pings to South Asia would work as well.

So far, I have looked into LeaseWeb, PhoenixNap, Hivelocity. Wondering what else is out there .. Any provider you think gives similar network and support to their clients?

Premium = Support is always available for any network / server / hardware related issue. And any issue gets address timely. (Don't have to wait an hour for an update). Don't need full management.

Thanks

Dedicated server hardware recommendations

My DC (New Continuum, great DC with very friendly staff by the way, highly recommended if you need a DC in Chicago suburbs) just informed me that my server which has been there since 2012, is completely dead with no LED turns on when power buttons are pressed. Coincidentally I have another server rented from OVH Strasburg so it is really great timing...

Grief aside, I guess I am now becoming an unwilling buyer for another server hardware.

The server that was just dead was a HP DL160 G6 with a single INTEL XEON E5504 CPU and RAID10 with 4x320GB HDD, the contract I have with DC is for 1U rackmount and 1amp of power. The server has 5-6 VMWare VMs (mixture between Windows Server 2008 and Debian) installed and is for my personal use only (running a mixture of Python/MS-SQL/MySQL), no deep learning or big data crazy stuff. If I can choose to upgrade I would like to upgrade to a faster CPU (and obviously larger disk space) - while keeping it under 1amp.

My budget is around 700 USD (since this was how much I paid 9 years ago). I have not followed up with server hardware specs (this is my one and only owned server, the others are all rented) for the past 9 years so apologies in advance if I sound quite ignorant.

So given all the above, my questions for the wise folks in WHT a

1. What is a sample "modern" hardware spec I can get with my budget and with my current service level (1U and 1amp of power)? Is there any brand/model you'd recommend? I can buy parts separately and ship to DC as well since I have free remote hands but ideally would prefer to buy a pre-built server like the HP I had before.

2. Is there any value in savage at least part of the dead server (CPU/RAM, etc, I suspect the issue is probably just a fried motherboard or PSU, but not sure if I should buy another PSU to send to DC) rather than having it tossed away for good?

Forgot to mention I'd prefer to buy the server in US (ideally located close to Chicago) so that I don't have to pay for 1000 bucks for shipping and wait for 5 months (especially given this year), I know there are (or at least there used to be) better deals out of Europe but that's a bit too far for me.

Of course if there is any suggestion you might have to try to see if the server could be brought back from dead please kindly share as well. No LED lights light on at the moment.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

You will lose money if you rent a server at OVH

Hello,

I am a customer of OVH since Apr 2016, previously, I only rented OVH 3-4 servers at the same time, so really using quality is fine, no problem arises. But 2 months ago, in 1 month I hired more than 30 servers at OVH to serve my clients, and I found many pressing problems, the quality of support at OVH was very poor.

1. The support time of OVH Sing since creating a crash ticket to check the server is very long, each system has more than 6 servers with 1 or 2 faulty servers that must stop all to wait for technical OVH testing takes more than 2-3 days, there are problems that take more than 10 days for OVH to find the cause.

2. Never trust OVH's hardware testing system, because before that I completely trusted OVH's hardware testing system, so the time I waited to solve the server problem took a long time. , because I thought it was my own problem.

3. And when the problem is due to the server error of OVH, we will still have to bear the loss of those faulty servers without a refund of reasonable usage date, as well as forcing to change the usage date to Other servers that do not support refunds.

Details you can see the attached picture.

My ticket :

These server problem when

1.
server ns569036.ip-139-99-125.net (server installed : 22:02, 16/11/2020 ; server return : 22/11/2020)
server ns544549.ip-139-99-124.net (server installed : 13:32, 15/11/2020 ; server return : 24/11/2020)
ticket id: 1141571, 1143377

Because this is a server system connected to each other, after receiving the server it takes 2 days to set up the system. That means around November 19, 2020, the system started to work. From the moment the server started to work, it started having connection problems (ticket: 1141571 - 21/11/2020 09:22), started to experience worse problems when the connection was dropped continuously and the machine server was not accessible around 21/11/2020 23:00 (this happened 4 times before on servers: ns544549.ip-139-99-124.net, ns569036.ip-139- 99-125.net, ns568999.ip-139-99-125.net), after about 2 hours of testing I created a ticket: 1143377 - 22/11/2020 01:18, speculating that the HDD is faulty so I asked to be replaced, but your technician has to wait until 08:00 23/11/2020 GMT + 8 before you can start testing the server. This means that the whole system of 10 servers has to wait more than 48 hours. I asked Belveder about the problem of not being able to wait long so I will buy another server instead and ask for a refund later, and Belveder agreed.

2.
server ns5002501.ip-51-79-162.net (server installed : 22:37, 19/11/2020 ; server return : 30/11/2020)
ticket id: 5805542655, 1158210, 1158130

This server was installed at 22:37 11/19/2020, it took me about 2 days to set up the system. And starting 11/23/2020, the system started to work, after about 1 day of operation, at 20:05 11/24/2020 there was a connection failure and inaccessible. I have to fix it by restarting this server in order for it to work properly again.

The situation continued on 11/26/2020 17:56 and 11/29/2020 20:28, at these 2 times I had to use reboot function in the OVH control panel to reboot the server (can check email let's see ).

Since I can't let the situation continue, my client has to report game server maintenance to wait for you to check the hardware. And because before that, you did not accept any refunds but forced to change the usage date, so I had to let customers wait for you to check and fix.

I created ticket 5805542655 - 11/30/2020 01:04 to request to check and replace the HDD, but until 11/30/2020 07:41 you have just started to check the HDD and do not agree to replace HDD, go to the extended test but still cannot find the cause of the error.

Continue with ticket 1158130 - 11/30/2020 10:00, because unable to find a solution, you agree to replace another server, and I continue to wait until 11/30/2020 16: 25 of you again informed me that the server could not be replaced and asked me to cancel my current server and order a replacement server.

Thus, my server had to be halted for almost 2 days from: 11/29/2020 20:28 until I bought a new server and installed it again on December 1, 2020.

3.
server ns563910.ip-139-99-125.net (server installed : 01:01, 20/11/2020 ; server return : 19/12/2020 ; problem report: 08/12/2020)
ticket id: 1262908, 1243789

This server problem when install first time, can check email: Hardware error during the re-installation of your dedicated server 19/11/2020 22:24

During the time of using this server, there were several times of connection failure, unable to access the server.

Until about December 5, 2020, it started to be automatically restarted, ticket id: 1243789, spent many days of testing, extensive testing, ... you still can't find it. The reason, until I had to take time to record the video to prove it, you guys can check and find out the cause on 12/16/2020 18:10, so more than 10 days the server is down, the system is idle for waiting

4.
server ns5004359.ip-51-79-177.net (server installed : 13:29, 24/11/2020 ; server return : 25/11/2020 )
ticket id: 1147496, 1148254, 1148617, 9905645348, 1148779

server problem with auto reboot, at this time i dont know problem, and your team also not know how to fix, so i buy other server for replace.

5.
server ns563916.ip-139-99-125.net (server installed : 00:50, 06/12/2020 ; server return : 19/11/2020 ; problem report: 08/12/2020)
ticket id: 1243789

After receiving the server, installing to use within 1 day, you will encounter the status of automatically restarting the server. The client temporarily turns off the server for you to check, but more than 10 days later you find out the problem, and the client has left the server not in use.

Thanks.

What solution(s) do you want OVH to offer you?
I want a full refund. Because of the server damage and delay in support time. I do not accept to change the usage date to another server, because the customer is no longer renting the server.

I have lost clients, and money in these incidents.

amantechs ruins my business and everything I own

Hi

Unfortunately it destroys my work and destroys everything

I booked a server from the amantechs company that booked servers or bought servers and sent them to psychz.net, this unprofessional, unprofessional company.

The amantechs company, from which I booked the server, has completely closed its for its website and phones for everything and its owner has disappeared completely from existence that we cannot reach for a month and a half
The control panel is expired, the shell is closed, and we can never access our sites

Servers are still working and at any moment they are liable to stop, effort and fatigue years wasted due to the disappearance of a person and the recklessness of a company

There are contracts signed with clients worth thousands of dollars and have penalty clauses worth tens of thousands of dollars. Postage is standing. It works only with the site. What should I do?

We contacted the parent company
psychz.net

Negligence, reverence, and erratic responses. Lied and deceived by this company, and unnecessarily suspending servers for more than 14 hours and running them without knowing a reason to stop them

They did not ask for anything and everything. Contact the owner of the account who bought the server, sir, the owner of the account is hidden. Does this mean that our servers were lost like this?

I asked them to ask for any proof and it was sent to them. They did not ask for anything from myself. I sent them to them. The control panel of the main domain of the server and some of the domains on the server were sent to them.

A copy of the amantechs company invoices on the server, the last of which is the bill last month and before last, a copy of the passport and everything that was sent to them

After 3 days of communicating and playing with me, they refused to give us any data. I told them, ask for any evidence, and I will bring it to you. They refused and they said the same sentence. Contact the owner of the disappeared account

From here I claim my right

and

I will file a case in court and I will demand a large financial compensation because of the damages that happen to us from this non-professional company

Server taken offline by phoenixnap US due to content

anyone face similar issue like me the dedicated server suddenly completely down.. after some complaining to the support.. all raid disk cant access and no partition on it..
and one if their support said the disk is pulled due do child porn.. no warrning.. no information and suddenly they act like that. if i ask more detail which ip and domain , they cant answer it and dont want to give more information..
really funny about this big NAP company .. i suspect that my server accidentally removed by their system.

at first i suspend network or hardware problem.. mode investigation make me more confusing because their support seems do not say the truth ..

Please help compare these dedicated server hosts...

I'm a small business owner and developer since 2003. We have a few dedicated servers, each one with a different host. One of these hosts was sold and the new owner wants us to use a new server in a new location. We are considering switching to another host. This server runs some important client web sites, our own site, and web apps we're developing.

What we're looking for:
- unmanaged bare metal dedicated server, Intel Xeon 4c/8t minimum, 6 or 8 core preferred
- 16GB RAM, 32GB RAM preferred
- 1TB (or 960GB) SSD, 2 x SSD software RAID preferred
- FreeBSD 11 or 12 (our other servers are FreeBSD 11.4)
- $140/month or less (we're paying $130/month now for the current server, no SSD, 16GB)
- US data center, east coast preferred

Obviously we want a decent data center and good customer support but we also want a company who is going to be around for the next 10 years and isn't likely to be bought up by some Wall Street investment firm who doesn't care about the customers of the smaller hosting firms they're purchasing.

Hosts I'm researching:
- Vultr
- OVHcloud (the US branch)
- Linode
- Hivelocity

So far, OVH seems to have the exact hardware, price point, and data center but their billing system worries me.

If you have any experience with these hosts, good or bad, please share. If you work for one of these hosts, I'm open to offers.

thanks,

Robert

Recomendations about servers

Hello people i am working to make a vps service.

I allready started with 4 Xeon E3-1230/40 Servers with 16 gb ram and 500 gb ssd 5 ip usables - i am paying now 30$ month for each server ( 120$ total )

i was looking for another provider with better protection anti ddos , better network , better location...

I look for a new provider with this config Dual Xeon E5-2430 - 64 GB RAM - 3 x500 GB SSD... 100$ month. 20 IPs

I have a very tight budget because I have very low prices....

I just don't want to degrade the performance of the service to my clients, I don't oversell on any server.

I am using vmware esxi and proxmox .... and all my vps are using windows server

any recomendation o provider is welcome.

Thanks

High end hardware in north america

I'm wondering what kind of price range I'll be looking at for a high end server in North America (Canada is OK), preferably around east coast.

Let's say hardware I need is:
- many cores EPYC cpu
- 128-256G ram
- 4x~4TB nvme
- 2x10G connection (for burst, not sustained traffic), <100TB traffic
- redundant PSU
- many 9's uptime
- single tenant, 1 ipv4 + 1 ipv6

The servers would be worker node for a saas so I don't need the lowest latency to major markets. DC's in an empty desert, tundra, or in the middle of corn fields are OK

Is 500-600$ per month possible for this setup?

I'm actually OK with the cost structure similar to colocating (large $$$$ upfront, small $ recurring) if I trust the provider's reputation enough. But the DIY nature of colo when it comes to h/w replacement and networking is not for me. I actually tried colocating using a low-end hardware a short while back to test the waters, ended up leaving said hardware with the colo provider (after paying my bills of course).

Just a chit-chat thread, not gonna commit to anything until the next couple of months.

Hetzner review

I've used Hetzner on and off for the past 10 years or so. I'm currently part of a few different projects that are using Hetzner, with in total around 30 active servers at the moment, however in total across the years, I must have had around 50-60 servers with Hetzner.

Sales: 6/10
I've had limited contact with the sales team, simple questions are answered quickly and there is live chat for these types of questions as well. Sales responses are anywhere from a couple of hours to a full day. The only real issue I've encountered with sales or billing is the inability to remove the "flexi pack" charge. This was a surcharge that was later abolished for when you wanted to customise the hardware of the server, however clients with existing servers were still being charged this fee. When I requested this charge be removed from some of our servers, sales said that it would only be removed after we had the servers for 2 years. So the solution? Cancel the older servers and order new ones. This was a hassle to overcome some pointless inflexibility, although we ended up with newer/better hardware at a cheaper price.

Setup: 8/10
Setup times are usually within an hour or so. Customised servers typically take a couple of days. I've encountered 1 mistake, with incorrect hardware as they misread our setup notes, this was corrected within an hour upon being notified of the mistake.

Support: 7/10
Responses typically take 10-30mins, I believe the longest I've had to wait has been an hour. Support responses have been a little curt at times, but this could be due to the language differences, and these responses are in the minority. Failed hard drive replacements take around 30 mins upon being notified. A major downside is lack of any client side ticketing system, with everything having to be dealt with via Email.

Network: 8/10
All servers have a 1Gbps dedicated port by default, sometimes there can be issues maxing the port, but it's rare to see anything below 800Mbps when I've tested, although this hasn't been extensive testing. Stability has been good, there was a hiccup earlier in the year which resulted in some packet loss, although this didn't affect us very much.

Control Panel: 5/10
As I said, lack of a proper ticketing system is a major issue which I'm surprised hasn't been rectified yet. Other than that, their panel is pretty feature rich, with extra features like alerts/notifications, decent bandwidth graphs, power management, etc.

Pricing/Value: 11/10
Hetzner's value for money is completely insane. If budget is your primary concern and you need an unmanaged provider in Europe, I don't think you can do any better.
