I'm hosting an online forum on this server:
Intel® Core i9-9900K (8 core)
128gb RAM
NVMe SSD 2x1TB
running Ubuntu. I'm using Plesk for webserver configuration. My online forum is completely developed by me in PHP and JS. The site is using web-sockets for logged in users for chatting etc. I'm running the default configuration of Plesk for the most part with Nginx handling static files and otherwise forwarding the request to Apache. As explained by Plesk here.
I use the default nginx config with 1 worker_process and 1024 worker_connections. On PHP-FPM I use pm = static, max_requests = 2000 and max_children = 500. I have more than enough RAM left running the forum and also the CPU stays below 40% workload all the time.
Now the problem: Visiting the site on any browser works just fine. But then out of 20-30 ajax requests one just takes waaaay too long. Like every ajax request gets an instant answer and from time to time one takes >10 seconds, a few forever. And I have no clue why. I looked through nginx and website error logs and cannot find any answer to this problem.
I would be very happy about any possible hint. I know it's hard to guess based on the little information. But maybe someone here experienced something similiar?
Good evening, I have a dedicated server on which I installed Plesk (control panel) and Litespeed extension, everything works perfectly, except for Litespeed, more precisely, it is activated as the main web server but when I enter the database (PHPMyAdmin) the webserver is NGINX and I do not understand that it is not Litespeed if it is set as the Main Webserver? Does anyone know how I can solve this or has anyone had this problem before?

Hello All,
I recently upgraded a dedicated server I have with Hivelocity in their Tampa 2 datacenter to 10 Gbps networking and I'm having a hard time getting anything above 1.5 Gbps out of the server. I have been searching and trying different settings with Nginx for 2 days with no luck on improving the situation and support has not been very helpful with this one. We did a iperf test a couple times and they only got 750 Mbps to there speedtest server which I thought was odd.
Does anyone who has experience with 10 Gig networking have any tips I could try for Nginx or server OS optimizations? The server is serving a 300 Mb static file (that is downloaded in 5 threads at once) for the most part and needs to handle downloads from it of about 3000 Mbps (Verizon Ultrawideband). The server is a Six Core Xeon with 32GB of ram and 512GB NVMe SSD.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hello,
im looking for a new Dedicated Server with Plesk. I was at cPanel 4 last years and i'm moving again to Plesk...
Server specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
64 GB DDR4 ECC
2 x 1 TB NVMe SSD
Do you have any optimization tips ?
I recently got a server (AX41-NVMe) with Plesk at Hetzner. Via the DNS console I added the base domain name, where I also want to reach the server, and that works fine.
What I'm running into now is Hetzner telling me to manually add all domain names to the DNS console in order to use them with the server. But that's crazy, isn't it? There are hosting companies that also rent the servers and they cannot manually add every domain name in the DNS console, I think.
I'm not used to it that way either. The server I rent from Leaseweb allows me to simply add a domain name to cPanel and it will be automatically recognized by the worldwide DNS servers.
For me the Hetzner DNS console is not a workable solution in this way. So I thought to solve it with the Plesk extension for Digital Ocean. Works great! But unfortunately no more than 50 domain names are allowed to be added to their DNS. I want to add 100 domains, so this solution doesn't work either.
So my question to you is:
How can I make my domain names reachable, without manually adding them all to Hetzner's DNS console?

I'm looking for a reasonably priced managed dedicated hosting solution for my small browser-based game site. I need good processing speeds and lots of storage, at least 4 TB as we are image heavy, but don't need a ton of RAM. The biggest issue is that I need someone who can actually migrate my site AND set it up in good working order. The site has been open for 11 years and while the code is old and clunky it works fine, but I don't have the knowledge to transfer and set up a site myself and I don't have a developer at this time. Once set up, the site rarely requires any attention from a server perspective. It is hosted privately atm but the person is no longer interested in hosting so I need to find a new solution asap.
Hi all,
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum; had trouble deciding whether to put it here or in the VPS forum.
I am running to some trouble with trying to properly expose a particular CPU topology to a VPS on a CentOS 8 server running KVM and Virtualizor, and was hoping you might be able to help. Not sure if I am doing something wrong and/or not understanding something.
I have an AMD Ryzen 5600X dedicated server with 6 cores and 12 threads. I created a VPS to which I am trying to assign 8 VCPUs (4 cores with 2 threads per core for a total of 8 threads). In Virtualizor, I set CPU units to 1000, CPU cores to 8, and CPU percent to 800. I then select the CPU topology option and specify 1 for sockets, 4 for cores and 2 for threads. CPU mode is host-passthrough. However, when using the lscpu command within the VPS or when checking /proc/cpuinfo, the topology shows up as 1 socket, 8 cores and only 1 thread per core. Does anyone know why this is? Would this affect performance within the VPS at all (that is, are applications not able to take advantage of hyperthreading, or does it even matter that the topology shows up this way)? The topology shows up as expected on an Intel E-2136 server that I tested on, so not sure what the difference is here.
Thanks for any tips you can provide!
Hi all
I have the following server:
AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 3600
6 cores x 3.6GHz
32GB RAMDDR4 ECC
2 x 1TB HDDSoftware RAID 1
Network: 1GB
UK server
Plesk
All for £60 a month
This will be used primarily for 1 x wordpress site that will have links showing videos from YouTube and articles with images and also a forum.
Whats your opinion on this server and will it be more ideal for the site as I'm guessing that WordPress is resource hungry.
Appreciated
Steve
I have been hetzner customer for past 2 years. i run online online academy (online classes), for which i am using bigbluebutton.
monthly Bandwidth consumption is <1TB.
Processor EV-3 4 cores 8threads
32gb ram ECC
1gb NIC
raid 1 3TBx3
my only purpose of having dedicated server was dedicated 1gbps port that can handle over 60 concurrent users.
Their support is good, network WAS good as well.
But now i am having alot of ping drops and distortions in my class from past 1 month.
i have contacted hetzner and they have said that their network is running fine.
I have done few checks and it shows

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider
Hetzner is saying that problem is out of their network so they cant do anything.
what should I do? should i shift to other host in USA or Canada? My current server is germany.
can anyone suggest affordable host <50USD
I need recommendations for providers for an unmanaged dedicated server in a Chicago or Illinois Data Centre - the location part is non-negotiable for specific application latency reasons.
Ideally need:
Epyc Rome/Milan or Threadripper 64 core CPU
Minimum 128GB+ RAM
minimum 2x1TB NVME SSD
5+ IP's
10GBPS uplink
15TB+ monthly bandwidth + reasonable overage costs
USB for hypervisor
