Im looking for a dedicated server host with a tier - 1 ASN on their infrastructure. does anyone have any leads for this?
I'm currently using VPS Hosting to host my WordPress Sites (around 30). If I need a Dedicated Server in the future, should I go for unmanaged server or managed server?
Hi all,
I'm new here and this my first post
So I'd like to get my own dedicated server and set it up at home to be used for games only but I have no idea what kind of specs that is needed when it comes to servers and the distribution of system resources such as CPU, RAM etc. Storage is self explained obviously.
I'm looking to host like a Minecraft server, 7 days to die server, Rust server etc but in general, if possible to say, how many game servers can you run on a single machine?
What is a good server Intel Xeon CPU these days that is not overkilling my needs to run a few game servers on the machine? Is 64 GB of RAM enough to start with?
What is best for my needs when it comes to the server type like a tower or a rack?
I'm just trying to get an estimated cost to set this all up and i'm a bit overwhelmed what is enough and not so my apologies if I don't provide much information so if you need any more details in order to assist, let me know and I'd be happy to be more specific in the topic .
Internet speed is not an issue as I have 1 Gbit up and down.
Thanks in advance!
Hey Everyone,
I am in urgent need of a new Dedicated Server. I have a server with WebNX and they have been down for 16+ hours with no ETA's given.
Here is what I have with WebNX: Intel Xeon W-1290P, 128GB DDR4 ECC, 1.6TB NVMe, 1Gbps Port, 100TB, /29 (iGPU). (Utah)
I would like the server in the US preferably LA, UTAH, Seattle, Texas.
I am looking for something similar around.
Any hosts that have anything comparable would be great or any suggestion from the community would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Again.

Hi there,
I'm currently struggling with creating a VPS on a Dedicated server.
I've purchased quite a high spec Dedicated server which is running Windows 2019 with Hyper-V installed and I'm looking at installing Ubuntu 16.04 and running it as a VPS off of the Dedicated server so I can allow my friends to make use of the server. I've purchased a failover IP address and I've attached it to the main Dedicated server but I'm a bit confused on how I am suppose to tell Hyper-V to use the additional IP only in that one VM box.
Please feel free to burn me for my stupidity but I could really do with some advice - thank you in advance.
Kind regards,

If anyone using their dedicated server please help me find help me about this issue
What is the actual meaning of Dedicated servers ? ok the answer is a dedicated server is a type of web hosting in which a client has the exclusive use of an entire server. So that mean VPS also a dedicated server. We used that word a decade ago for Bare Metal Servers. I think we should correct the WHT category as Bare Metal Servers. This is just a suggestion. What do you think about that ?
Hello,
I apologize if I'm not using the right terminology or if I am really new to this.
A few months ago, I started a website where people can upload short videos (50 MB max). Unfortunately, some users have complained that the upload speed on my website is lower compared to similar websites. The upload speed on my website only reaches 8mbps but the two similar websites have upload speed between 12-16 mbps. After talking to the host about the problem, they told me the following: There's still an issue which we'll be resolving in the future with our network that when there's a high latency between the server and the client the connection will slow down for some reason.
I have tested my website and the 2 similar websites from my home internet and the internet of several other friends, and I have seen similar results for the upload speed.
I am currently using a VPS from Scalahosting and their customer service has been amazing, but I do want to change providers as I would like my users to have a higher upload speed when uploading videos.
I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on what host I can use for either a dedicated server or a streaming server? I am really new to this so I would need a managed services. The budget is not a problem so any server with a high upload speed for the users will be good.
Any help would be appreciate it.
I'm a small business owner and developer since 2003. We have a few dedicated servers, each one with a different host. One of these hosts was sold and the new owner wants us to use a new server in a new location. We are considering switching to another host. This server runs some important client web sites, our own site, and web apps we're developing.
What we're looking for:
- unmanaged bare metal dedicated server, Intel Xeon 4c/8t minimum, 6 or 8 core preferred
- 16GB RAM, 32GB RAM preferred
- 1TB (or 960GB) SSD, 2 x SSD software RAID preferred
- FreeBSD 11 or 12 (our other servers are FreeBSD 11.4)
- $140/month or less (we're paying $130/month now for the current server, no SSD, 16GB)
- US data center, east coast preferred
Obviously we want a decent data center and good customer support but we also want a company who is going to be around for the next 10 years and isn't likely to be bought up by some Wall Street investment firm who doesn't care about the customers of the smaller hosting firms they're purchasing.
Hosts I'm researching:
- Vultr
- OVHcloud (the US branch)
- Linode
- Hivelocity
So far, OVH seems to have the exact hardware, price point, and data center but their billing system worries me.
If you have any experience with these hosts, good or bad, please share. If you work for one of these hosts, I'm open to offers.
thanks,
Robert
Hello,
I am starting my own business selling game servers. I am going to purchase a dedicated server monthly, install tcadmin to automatically allocate resources to new customers buying their own servers for various different video game titles. How will I know when my first dedicated server will reach its limit? In other words how will I know what prices/plans to set to flip a profit on my first dedicated server?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi,
I am based in London and need a dedicated server to host some vm's eg grafana, prometheus (IT ops stuff).
However, I want to deploy vsphere 7 as it has good support for Kubernetes.
What would be the cheapest combination for a vsphere 7 supported server with the most memory/storage? Who should I look at?
