I am hosting 2 domain in a managed dedicated server. Recently experienced more downtime than usual. Among my 2 domain 1 is Online auction website with 2000 + members and always with live visitor 40 +..
Can you suggest me a web hosting company offer medium price managed server?
Thanks
After 2 weeks working forth and back with Liquidwebs staff to secure our servers we have to give up.
The situation is that frustrating that we need to find a different hosting center for a managed dedicated server.
I was wondering if anyone know of companies reliable for a small ecommerce website?
If you can't suggest any here then maybe you can hint me what to look for?
We want the server to be located in Europe and has to be managed but with Plesk or cPanel.
Hello, folks...
I'm looking to have a live website at some-domain.com, hosted on a dedicated server, while using CloudFlare nameservers. And I need to find the fastest way to do this from scratch.
I'm getting a bit confused with all the steps required. I also think I'm waiting unnecessarily for things to happen. This shouldn't be taking so long.
My current understanding of the process is this:
1) Register the domain with a domain registrar.
2) Login to my hosting account's cPanel and add the domain as an addon domain.
3) Add a DNS zone for the domain in my dedicated server's control panel (not cPanel).
4) Login to the domain registrar. Add custom nameservers to the domain, and point them to my server's nameservers.
5) Wait 2 days for the nameservers to propagate.
6) Login to CloudFlare, add a new site and let Cloudflare import the DNS zones.
7) Login to the domain registrar and change the nameservers of the domain to those Cloudflare gives me.
8) Wait 2-3 days for the nameservers to propagate.
9) Test the site.
Can you please help me streamline this process?
Thanks!
I'm currently using VPS Hosting to host my WordPress Sites (around 30). If I need a Dedicated Server in the future, should I go for unmanaged server or managed server?
We're looking for a managed dedicated server in NL or DE DC,
We have read much praise in here for Hivelocity but we checked their managed plans and amazed to see that they do not offer any support in cases where FFMPEG or 3rd party scripts are involved.
We need support whenever anything happens where our tech/dev isn't capable enough to solve the issue. As an example of such tech challenge that we would need to have covered by the managed hosting is issues that relate to diagnosing network package losses that are noticed when using a custom Google Cloud Translation API. In such case we wouldn't want to get told 'We can't support you because you're using 3rd party CMS/Software'
We're used to managed dedi hosting in US and have never had any such issues where support aren't taking care of everything. We need to understand who in NL or DE does provide such services?
We do not need support often but when do we we want a sysadmin on the other end who isn't just trying to avoid supporting based on some weird T&C.
Usually over a year we may need 5 hours of support, so during these 5 hours we need just full support and dedication from the support staff as rest of the year the payment for the services has been more of an insurance payment.
Hello, my name is David, new member
I'm recently learning about using server hosting or providing services.
And I realized that server hosting should also be provided to meet customer needs.
Below are the Top 5 picked from our own survey to learn more.
Server's stable operation, security, price, quick response, and data center location seem to be important values.
What do you think is most important in a dedicated server??
Please feel free to share your opinions and reasons. I would appreciate it
I've been thinking about Hetzner's 16GB RAM managed server (VSERVER MC50 49.00) to host a web server backed by Postgresql, Redis and Elasticsearch. Do you have other suggestions at similar price range ( 49 - 60) or comments on their managed products? I don't need control panels. I want someone to take care of security or hardware stuff. I may use docker-compose to install those apps. I have used their Cloud VPS on and off but no experience with dedicated server.
One thing I don't like about Hetzner's is that port-forwarding is not allowed, which means the Postgresql and Elasticsearch ports have to be exposed in order to use DBeaver on my desktop to manage database stuff.
hello,
For about 100eur, i can get managed Hetzner server: hetzner.com/managed-server
OR unmanaged Hetzner server + platinumservermanagement.com/ (or + myw.pt/devops).
What will be a better option?
I have no experience as System Administrator.
I will like to keep the server fast, optimized, and online.
I don't plan to host many websites on the server, I need a server for a couple of large websites.
So optimization of servers for sites is very important to me.
For optimization I mean, cache optimization, database optimization, server optimization for WordPress, etc...
Is anyone have experience with Hetzner managed servers?
Best Regards
Hi,
I have 50+ Cpanel accounts on my VPS, I'm looking to migrate to a dedicated server from another provider,
I want to know if there's a way to migrate from the VPS to the new server with no downtime?
I have access to most of my client's domain names, also most of my clients are using Cloudflare (My account).
Can anyone advise me on what's the best approach here?
Thank you.
Hello All,
I am looking for server with annual billing of 100-150$.
Old,un-managed will work too.
I need them for basic web hosting and for learning purpose.
Not sure if this is the right category.. I want to know what makes a server speedy. My issue is, I tried about 6 servers the last 6 months.
Reseller Hostmantis (5$ a month)
VPS cloudcone 10 core 16 GB ram (50$) a month + cpanel (15$) + litespeed (30$) a month
VPS from a dutch guy, 8 core, 16GB ram, directadmin (70 a month)
Cloudcone VPS: 10 cores, 60GB ram, Cpanel + litespeed = like 70 a month).
Wpprovider (claims to have to fastest dutch hosting): 25,- a month.
Neostrada magento hosting (6 core, 8GB ram, cpanel = 20,- a month)
Believe it or not, but the freaking 5$ per month SHARED (!!!!) RESELLER (!!!!!) is the fastest of them all. And I really don't understand how that is possible. Is there anybody who can explain to me what makes a server fast? First I thought it was litespeed, so i bought a litespeed license for by VPS'ses. Then I thought it was the lack of RAM, so i went to Contabo with 60 freaking GB of ram WITH litespeed. And even that is slower if I 1:1 compare it with a 100% duplicated site on that Hostmantis reseller package...
Then a guy from Asia who tried to improve the pagespeed for a webshop copied the site to his dedicated server and the results were INSANELY fast. I asked him his config and he said:
2 X Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2650
32 Cores
64 GB ram
2 X SSD Drive
He said he didn't had Litespeed, only Memcache installed.
Is there anybody who can tell me what makes a server fast? Is it the RAM? the CPU? The managing? The location? The LITEspeed/Memcached/Redis? And when does it make sense to get a Dedicated server instead of a VPS?
About me: As side job I build websites. Most of them very easy, 3 page wordpress sites with no visitors. I host about 60. They don't really care about speed, cause they are happy if there are There are some bigger clients (3 with a woocommerce webshop, 1 with a magento webshop) for which speed IS important.
What I would like is
THE FASTEST Server possible for my amount
At least 500GB SSD storage
Managed
Backups remotely (and something like JEtbackup)
Softacalous
Cpanel + WHM (100 accounts)
Budget: Under like 180$ for all (if that is anyway possible).
