esxi no http connection inside vm

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a dedicated server with low latency (<2ms) to the Equinox NY4 data centre.

H/W wise:

min 6c/12t (8c better)
64gb mem
400gb ssd/nvme
high SLA on network availability


I have my own Windows OS, so need to be able to install it remotely.

I do not need high bandwidth so even a low 100gb/month with 100mb/s connection is ok for me as long as it's reliable and latency is as close to 0 as possible with NY4 datacentre.

I have a Ryzen 6c with 64gb/960gb SSD from Hetzner in Germany, but the latency is not great for what I need As an FYI, I'm paying about 50USD for the Hetzner. I'm expecting to pay a bit more than Hetzner, but not to break my budget either.

Please can you recommend any providers?

For about 100eur, i can get managed Hetzner server: hetzner.com/managed-server

OR unmanaged Hetzner server + platinumservermanagement.com/ (or + myw.pt/devops).


What will be a better option?

I have no experience as System Administrator.

I will like to keep the server fast, optimized, and online.

I don't plan to host many websites on the server, I need a server for a couple of large websites.

So optimization of servers for sites is very important to me.

For optimization I mean, cache optimization, database optimization, server optimization for WordPress, etc...

Is anyone have experience with Hetzner managed servers?

I want to buy a SX server from Hetzner so i asked them about the abuse terms ...

I got this response:

Dear client,

Thank you for your email.

If we receive an abuse report for a site hosted by you, we will forward the abuse report to you. The deadline to solve the problem is in most cases 24 hours.
If the problem is not be solved within the given time the IP address could be blocked by our side.

IF there will be a lot of abuse reports for one customer server or account, it could lead to a cancellation of the server.

for 100 million clients, we really can't check their contents uploaded to our server (files and ...) so we 100% will get tooooooo many abuse reports and from what support dep said:

It shows that Hetzner is not Appropriate for social network or even big websites (as they said (IF there will be a lot of abuse reports for one customer server or account, it could lead to a cancellation of the server)) !!!

Question:
How some websites servers like discord located in germany, frankfort (i think it's hetzner !!!)) ?? and why they not get banned !!!!? is it because they hide their ip in cloudflare?
How even the abuse report works !!? how people submits abuse report ? and abuse report is for which contents?

i want the same server from hetzner directly. i searched in server auction but NIC is I219 did not find I210
anyone could tell is I219 is better than I210 or not? i am newbie

Anybody else have a server hosted in the ReliableSite NYC Metro datacenter and experiencing upstream bandwidth issues (upstream from your server, meaning clients downloading from your server)? In the past 2-3 days I've only been able to get ~3MB/s upstream (downstream is unaffected, I can still saturate the Gbps connection).

So then I tried ReliableSite's own speedtest links for each of their own data centers, posted he https://www.reliablesite.net/network/

And I get the same bandwidth differences:

NYC Metro: ~3.5 MB/s

These speeds are while running wget from the URLs above to a VM in Azure US East 2.

Can anyone else confirm that they see slow speeds with NYC Metro?

I am trying to find an alternative to Hetzner's SX133 which is ridiculously great priced. How do they even do that? Well done Hetzner. On 24/03/2021 - SX133's specs a

10 x 16 TB (SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 rpm) a whooping 160 TB of storage,
1 Gbit/s connection,
Unlimited traffic,
159.00 (without TAX) I need this for an image hosting website, where users do sometimes upload adult content. Sadly Hetzner TOS (point 6.2) does not allow that and they are entitled to block access to the account of any customer who violates this. Which is fine - it's their rules.


My budget is 180 EUR (without TAX), but I don't even need such fancy specs as Hetzner provides. I am completely okay to settle with something like:
4 core, 8 thread CPU,
32 GB DRR3 ECC,
2 or even 1 240 GB SATA SSD,
The most important factor is storage. The more the better, the minimum would be ~100 TB (SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 rpm)
1 Gbit/s connection,
Website last month traffic was 500 TB, but since 90% is cached by CDN...would still need about 50 TB. Obviously unlimited traffic would be great. Seems like very few hosting companies actually offer dedicated servers for storage purposes. I have already checked OVH, Leaseweb, OneProvider, Flaunt7 and some local country hostings, but it seems like noone is even close in comparison to what Hetzner offers. It's like their offer is from the future and hopefully in 1-2 years time, others will get there as well.

It be nice if server were located somewhere close to West/Middle of Russia.


P.S As another option, maybe I could rent more then one dedicated server so that their storage capacity would be ~100 TB and going with CEPH instead of RAID6, but still, can't exced 180 EUR budget. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I apologize if I'm not using the right terminology or if I am really new to this.

A few months ago, I started a website where people can upload short videos (50 MB max). Unfortunately, some users have complained that the upload speed on my website is lower compared to similar websites. The upload speed on my website only reaches 8mbps but the two similar websites have upload speed between 12-16 mbps. After talking to the host about the problem, they told me the following: There's still an issue which we'll be resolving in the future with our network that when there's a high latency between the server and the client the connection will slow down for some reason.

I have tested my website and the 2 similar websites from my home internet and the internet of several other friends, and I have seen similar results for the upload speed.

I am currently using a VPS from Scalahosting and their customer service has been amazing, but I do want to change providers as I would like my users to have a higher upload speed when uploading videos.

I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on what host I can use for either a dedicated server or a streaming server? I am really new to this so I would need a managed services. The budget is not a problem so any server with a high upload speed for the users will be good.

Any help would be appreciate it.

Hey guys, I have a dedicated server from hetzner that has VMware ESXi and many VM. I ordered an additional IP address but I don't know how to connect those IPs to the main IP address.

I know I can do it by defining a bridge in one of my machines, Is that correct? and if is true how can I do it?

I have been hetzner customer for past 2 years. i run online online academy (online classes), for which i am using bigbluebutton.
monthly Bandwidth consumption is <1TB.
Processor EV-3 4 cores 8threads
32gb ram ECC
1gb NIC
raid 1 3TBx3

my only purpose of having dedicated server was dedicated 1gbps port that can handle over 60 concurrent users.

Their support is good, network WAS good as well.
But now i am having alot of ping drops and distortions in my class from past 1 month.

i have contacted hetzner and they have said that their network is running fine.

I have done few checks and it shows

Hetzner is saying that problem is out of their network so they cant do anything.
what should I do? should i shift to other host in USA or Canada? My current server is germany.
can anyone suggest affordable host <50USD

Please make some suggestions/recommendations.

I was backing up some servers to Hetzner dedicated server with JetBackup, but it's very slow even with incremental. I see iowait is around 30.00% plus.

The servers I'm backing up have 2Gbps connections, yet having cheap but fast backup storage with a 2Gbps connection can be quite expensive unless I don't know of the good ones?

Ps I already have bare metal backup hosted in the cloud for primary backup which is already extremely fast, and so if too much hassle/expensive can just drop the secondary backup with Hetzner/JetBackup.
