What modules should we need for faster video buffering on CentOS 7 Dedicated Server?

The video bufferings when embedded on other websites are so low. It waits a lot to buffer. So which modules should we install to make it faster?

Video Encoding/Trans coding Conversion Dedicated Server Required

I am looking to buy a dedicated server for my video project, I have multiple video upload at the same time each video I upload is about 2-3 GB in size and about 2-3 hours in length (TV Series/Movies). Currently I am using Intel Xeon E5-1650V3 dedicated server with 128GB of RAM with dedicated port link speed 1GBPS but when I convert mp4/avi videos into HLS using FFMPEG it takes about 40 minutes to 1 hour on each video to convert but I need some faster solution that can do within less then 15 minutes. Some hosting companies recommends to add GPU in it.Please recommend me a dedicated server specification that can handle version conversion very fast. features I will be using CentOS7, FFMPEGLooking forward for recommendations

Server Resource Management

Hello,

I am starting my own business selling game servers. I am going to purchase a dedicated server monthly, install tcadmin to automatically allocate resources to new customers buying their own servers for various different video game titles. How will I know when my first dedicated server will reach its limit? In other words how will I know what prices/plans to set to flip a profit on my first dedicated server?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Dedicated server or Streaming server

Hello,

I apologize if I'm not using the right terminology or if I am really new to this.

A few months ago, I started a website where people can upload short videos (50 MB max). Unfortunately, some users have complained that the upload speed on my website is lower compared to similar websites. The upload speed on my website only reaches 8mbps but the two similar websites have upload speed between 12-16 mbps. After talking to the host about the problem, they told me the following: There's still an issue which we'll be resolving in the future with our network that when there's a high latency between the server and the client the connection will slow down for some reason.

I have tested my website and the 2 similar websites from my home internet and the internet of several other friends, and I have seen similar results for the upload speed.

I am currently using a VPS from Scalahosting and their customer service has been amazing, but I do want to change providers as I would like my users to have a higher upload speed when uploading videos.

I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on what host I can use for either a dedicated server or a streaming server? I am really new to this so I would need a managed services. The budget is not a problem so any server with a high upload speed for the users will be good.

Any help would be appreciate it.

Create Linux VPS on Windows (Hyper-V) Dedicated Server

Hi there,

I'm currently struggling with creating a VPS on a Dedicated server.

I've purchased quite a high spec Dedicated server which is running Windows 2019 with Hyper-V installed and I'm looking at installing Ubuntu 16.04 and running it as a VPS off of the Dedicated server so I can allow my friends to make use of the server. I've purchased a failover IP address and I've attached it to the main Dedicated server but I'm a bit confused on how I am suppose to tell Hyper-V to use the additional IP only in that one VM box.

Please feel free to burn me for my stupidity but I could really do with some advice - thank you in advance.

Kind regards,
Jack R

Which server will be faster ?

Hi,

I need a dedicated server and I found the following configs which are at same price:

E3-1245v5, 32GB RAM, SoftRAID 2x4TB SATA
E3-1245v5 , 32GB RAM, SoftRAID 2x450 GB NVME

I need storage space but at the same time I cannot compromise much on the speed.
I know that NVMe will be faster but the question is how much slower the SATA will be from the NVMe ?

Will it be very slow or somewhat slow ? Please clarify.

Thanks.

Dedicated Server or Bare Metal Server

What is the actual meaning of Dedicated servers ? ok the answer is a dedicated server is a type of web hosting in which a client has the exclusive use of an entire server. So that mean VPS also a dedicated server. We used that word a decade ago for Bare Metal Servers. I think we should correct the WHT category as Bare Metal Servers. This is just a suggestion. What do you think about that ?

Migrating clients websites from VPS to Dedicated server with no downtime

Hi,

I have 50+ Cpanel accounts on my VPS, I'm looking to migrate to a dedicated server from another provider,
I want to know if there's a way to migrate from the VPS to the new server with no downtime?
I have access to most of my client's domain names, also most of my clients are using Cloudflare (My account).
Can anyone advise me on what's the best approach here?

Thank you.
