Hi,
i use centos with cpanel,
and set cpanel account for each hosting srver to run backup with jetbackup.
about the backup server,
do you use any control panel to manage them ?
or just use centos and create normal user ?
I have a server with Liquid web with Acronis Backup and Cpanel , What other service i can use, i want my clients to have Account level backups, if something goes wrong they can rewind and fix the account, Acronis Provides Entire server backup, regards
Please make some suggestions/recommendations.
I was backing up some servers to Hetzner dedicated server with JetBackup, but it's very slow even with incremental. I see iowait is around 30.00% plus.
The servers I'm backing up have 2Gbps connections, yet having cheap but fast backup storage with a 2Gbps connection can be quite expensive unless I don't know of the good ones?
Ps I already have bare metal backup hosted in the cloud for primary backup which is already extremely fast, and so if too much hassle/expensive can just drop the secondary backup with Hetzner/JetBackup.
This is my first post on Web Hosting Talk Forum. I need your help. My server consists of 2 hard drives. 1TB x 2 SATA. In last week my server gets slow down and the data center noticed that I have an issue with my hard drive. They said " We are showing drive SDB is failing and will need to be replaced, " They asked me to take a backup and replace the hard drive immediately.
I have 2 hard drives and I have installed CentOS 7 with software RAID 1 ( Software RAID ). So now my question is do I need to restore the backup once we replace the hard drive. ? or is it syncing with RAID without any manual backup restoration ?
Hi everyone,
Can you suggest some backup methods?
BTW I'm using cPanel.
Thanks
Hi,
on cpanel server,
do you use any way to backup/keep old logs on remote server ?
Hello, folks...
I'm looking to have a live website at some-domain.com, hosted on a dedicated server, while using CloudFlare nameservers. And I need to find the fastest way to do this from scratch.
I'm getting a bit confused with all the steps required. I also think I'm waiting unnecessarily for things to happen. This shouldn't be taking so long.
My current understanding of the process is this:
1) Register the domain with a domain registrar.
2) Login to my hosting account's cPanel and add the domain as an addon domain.
3) Add a DNS zone for the domain in my dedicated server's control panel (not cPanel).
4) Login to the domain registrar. Add custom nameservers to the domain, and point them to my server's nameservers.
5) Wait 2 days for the nameservers to propagate.
6) Login to CloudFlare, add a new site and let Cloudflare import the DNS zones.
7) Login to the domain registrar and change the nameservers of the domain to those Cloudflare gives me.
8) Wait 2-3 days for the nameservers to propagate.
9) Test the site.
Can you please help me streamline this process?
Thanks!
We're looking for a backup storage server with eg. 6X8TB Raid 6, we have found such products at Hetzner and OVH, but we do not want to go though their verification process so where can we buy this without such KYC?
We're not going to do anything scammy with this server, we just need a place to store incremental backups and perhaps do some video encoding. We do value our privacy and these mentioned companies seems expect us to submit DNA sample as part of just ordering a simple server.

This sunday my business went offline, supposedly due to
a power outage in the building, i ask for backup my sites in
another server for which i paid, and they said is not possible
due to unclear reasons.
Then I asked if they don't have power plants, the answer was evaded,
unfortunately they don't offer refunds and was my fault not to read that.
I've always liked supporting small businesses, but with these
dubious behaviors and policies, I don't think I will ever do it again.
their support is good, there were no problems during setup,
but they are not prepared for when things go wrong.
I can be sure that after the damage to my business,
they don't have a damage repair policy either.
So to my misfortune RackNerd hosting,
It is not prepared for me, nor for you.
Any recommendation will be appreciated
